Married, at the home of E. Harper, in Blythedale, Mo., on Sunday, March 2, l902, MR. LEWIS B. JACKSON and MISS PEARL A. BURK, both of Leon, Iowa.

The contracting parties are well and favorably known by many of our readers, and the only fault being that they deserted their friends in this city and slipped off to Missouri to be married. The groom was born and raised in Leon, where he attended the Leon Public Schools, graduating with honors with the class of '96. He then attended Drake University at Des Moines and spent several years teaching in Decatur County Schools, being Principal of Leroy School in l898, devoting his leisure time to the study of law. He attended the Des Moines College of Law and was admitted to the bar in l900, since which time he has practiced in this county and has been engaged in a number of important cases. He is a member of Leon Lodge, No. 84, I.O.O.F. MR. JACKSON is a brilliant young lawyer of great promise and will reach the top of his profession.

The bride has resided in this city for the past two years, being employed as stenographer in C.W. Hoffman's law office and has endeared herself to many friends by her gracious smile and pleasing manners. She was born in Ohio and attended the public schools in that State, after which she entered the Richmond Business College at Richmond, Ind., graduating in two departments, and made such splendid progress that she was retained for two years as a member of the faculty of the college. She is a member of the P.E.O. Society, the C.L.S. Club, a literary organization of young ladies, and an active member of the Presbyterian Church and Sunday School, and a lady of amiable qualities and many virtues.

MR. JACKSON departed Monday for Wyoming, where he goes to look up a location to establish a law practice and MRS. JACKSON will remain in Leon until he locates.

Many friends of this young couple extend hearty congratulations and well wishes for their future. May the sunshine of prosperity attend them through life.
