At the home of the bride's parents, Major and MRS. J.L. YOUNG, last evening occurred the wedding of two of Leon's most popular young people, MR. JAMES W. HURST and MISS HELEN YOUNG.

The ceremony was performed at 7:30 o'clock, the guests being limited to relatives and a few personal friends of the young couple. As Mendelssohn's wedding march was rendered by Mrs. W.E. Myers, the contracting parties attended by the bride's parents, entered the parlor and took their places in a bower of pink and white carnations, palms and ferns in the south window, and were met by Rev. Allen Judd, of Des Moines, who made them man and wife, using the beautiful ring service of the Episcopal Church, little Margaret Smith, niece of the bride, acting as ring bearer.

The bride was beautifully attired in a becoming costume of white silk Etamine over white taffeta, ornamented with a shower bouquet of white sweet peas.

After the ceremony a buffet lunch was served in the dining room which was decorated in pink and white, the frappe bowl being presided over by Misses Marion Stookey and Ethel Cruikshank.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Major and MRS. J.L. YOUNG, born and reared to womanhood in this city, a bright and vivacious young lady, loved by all who know her. She was educated at St. Katharine's Academy at Davenport, and is in every way fitted to grace the home in which she is installed as mistress.

The groom is a very popular young business man of the city, a member of the firm of Hurst Bros. and a young man of sterling qualities.

Many beautiful presents were received from friends testifying to the high esteem in which this worthy young couple are held.

MR. and MRS. JAMES W. HURST will be at home in their cozy home on West Commercial Street, after July l5, and their many friends extend their heartiest congratulations and wish them long years of wedded bliss with never a shadow to darken their honeymoon which starts under most auspicious circumstances.

The guests from out of town were: Major J.L. Young, Washington, D.C.; Lew H. Young and family, Mrs. N. Baker, Ottumwa; G.F. Rinehart and family, Newton; J.R. McPherrin and family, Corydon; Fred J.
