HAWES-PAYNE - Amos HAWES of Stray, Oregon, and Mrs. Nora PAYNE of Lamoni were married at Leon, Wednesday forenoon Elder SELLARDS of the Christian Church officiating. The groom is a son of William HAWES, formerly of Lamoni, now of Condon, Oregon. The bride is a daughter of J. N. BROWN of Lamoni, and is well known to the public, having been engaged as a clerk in Fleet's store for some time. They took the noon train for southern Missouri to visit the bride's brothers before going on to their home in Oregon.
