At the home of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. J.P. HAMILTON in north Leon, at high noon yesterday, occurred the wedding of MISS NELLIE M. HAMILTON and MR. THOMAS P. EDWARDS, the ceremony being performed by Rev. R.R. Hopton, of Pella, a brother-in-law of the bride.
To the beautiful strains of the wedding march played by MISS CARRIE REDMAN, cousin of the bride, the bridal couple entered the parlor and in the presence of the relatives and a few intimate friends, Rev. Hopton joined them in the holy bonds of matrimony. The bride was dressed in blue mousseline de soie over blue mull and carried orange blossoms sent her by her brother, ALVA HAMILTON from Guanabaco, Cuba. The groom wore the conventional black dress suit. After congratulations the guests partook of a sumptuous wedding repast.
The bride is one of our brightest and best young ladies, a graduate of the Leon High School, and in every way fitted to grace the home of the man of her choice. The groom is a prominent young business man of Sapulta, Ind. Ty., where they will make their home, leaving on the noon train today.
Many friends extend hearty congratulations to this worthy young couple and wish them years of happiness and prosperity.
MRS. R.B. DRAKE, sister of the bride, who is under quarantine at her home nine miles south of Leon, having been exposed to a case of smallpox, could not attend the wedding, so the telephone was resorted to and connection made over the south rural line, the phone at the HAMILTON home being kept open during the ceremony and MRS. DRAKE, nine miles away, had the pleasure of hearing the ceremony and music and extended the newly wedded couple congratulations over the phone.
