At high noon yesterday, at the residence of the bride's parents, DR. and MRS. WAIGHT, on North Main Street, was solemnized the marriage of MR. FRANK E. FRENCH, of Brookfield, Mo., and MISS LOUISE WAIGHT, the ceremony being performed by Dr. A.H. Chittenden, Pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Chariton, in the presence of only the relatives and a few intimate friends. The wedding march, "Bridal Chorus," from Lohengrin by Wagner, was played by Mrs. C.E. Gardner.

It was one of the prettiest home weddings ever seen in Leon, the young couple being two of the most popular young folks of this city and Brookfield. The bride looked charming in a costume of white silk mouseline de soie, which was very becoming to her. She is one of the most accomplished and popular brides of the season, and during a residence of some years in this city has endeared herself to all our people by her winning manner and pleasant disposition. She graduated from the Leon High School, and is also an elocutionist of note, having won a number of diamond and gold medals in state and district contests. She is in every way fully qualified to make a model helpmate for the young man who has won her hand and heart.

The groom is not a stranger here, having at one time been employed in this city as telegraph operator, a profession in which he has rapidly risen, now holding the responsible position of train dispatcher on the Burlington system at Brookfield, Mo. He is a young man of sterling worth and integrity, and numbers his friends only by his acquaintances.

The happy young couple left on the afternoon train for St. Louis, where they will spend two weeks at the World's Fair, and then go to their home at Brookfield, Mo., where the groom has a cozy home all furnished for the bride to preside over. The hearty congratulations and best wishes of many friends are extended to them, and may never a cloud appear on the horizon of their married life.

The guests from a distance were: Mrs. C.H. French, F.C. French, wife and daughter, Virginia, Mr. Junior Figge, of Lancaster, Mo.; Mrs. W.A. Ferren and children, Freeda and William, Mrs. W.I. Fritz and daughters, Lelah and Bernice, of Clearfield; Mrs. Harry Bowen and children, Phania and Frederick, of Conway; Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Waight, of Peoria, Ill.; Dr. A.H. Chittenden and daughter, Fern, of Chariton.
