BROWN-PETTY - Mr. O. O. BROWN and Miss Margarette PETTY surprised their many friends by going to the home of Judge W. F. YOUNG, Sunday evening, and having him pronounce the marriage ceremony. While rumor has said they would be married soon, no one guessed the day-not even the members of the bride's family. The groom is a rising young attonrey, and is a member of the law firm of Foulke and Brown, and a very energetic and industrioiuos young man. He came to this county from Iowa about three years ago, invested in real estate and decided to make his home here. The bride has been one of Stockton's most popular young ladies for the past few years. Her many pleasing manners have won her many friends, and her home training has fitted her in mind and heart to become the helpmate of a worthy young man. Mr. BROWN has purchased the Church property in the south part of town and is having it fixed up for a home, which they will occupy as soon as possible. Their many friends extend best wishes and congratulations.-Cedar County Republican.
