On the evening of Wednesday, June 12, at the home of MR. and MRS. J.N. SYLVESTER, in the presence of about fifty guests, occurred one of the prettiest wedding ceremonies ever witnessed in our city, the most interested parties being DR. FRED A. BOWMAN of Leon and MISS DALE SYLVESTER of this place.

At 8:30 o'clock the bridal couple entered the parlors, which were decorated with cut flowers and potted plants, while Rev. Harry Adams of Des Moines, with a short but impressive ceremony, pronounced the words whereby these two young lives were made one.

After receiving the congratulations of their many friends, MR. and MRS. BOWMAN led the way to the dining room, where an elegant collation, consisting largely of fruits and ices, was served.

MRS. BOWMAN is the youngest daughter of MR. and MRS. J.N. SYLVESTER, and has been a successful teacher in the schools of this place. She has been known to us for many years, and has won by her beauty, grace and gentle, winsome life, the respect and love of all with whom she has been associated. On this occasion she wore a simple gown of rich white silk with pearl trimmings. Her flowers were cream tea roses.

DR. BOWMAN is the second son of MR. and MRS. SAMUEL BOWMAN, formerly of this place, now of King City, Mo. He is well known throughout the county, having been a teacher in the public schools until he entered his chosen profession, medicine. He has been a student in the Keokuk College of Physicians and Surgeons, and is a graduate from a school of medicine at Louisville, Ky. He is a self-made man who realizes that life is real and earnest. He will win success because he deserves it.

DR. and MRS. BOWMAN took the train for Leon Thursday, where they are at home to their friends on the corner of Q and Ninth Streets. The Advance unites with their friends in hoping that their brightest expectations may be realized.

Another home is formed. May it be one of the bright spots in the waste of life, whose influences shall make the world better and happier and lift the soul Heavenward.
