Wedding bells rang out again this week in Decatur proclaiming two of our best young people as partners through life. The happy couple are MISS JESSIE REEVES, eldest single daughter of MR. and MRS. NELSON G. REEVES, who live about three miles west of Decatur, and MR. CLARENCE E. AMMONS, son of MR. and MRS. WM. E. AMMONS who live just north of Decatur. A few relatives only, of the bride and groom, their parents and the brothers and sisters of the bride and Mrs. Rev. Scroggan were present at the wedding which was celebrated Wednesday evening, Jan. 2l, l903, at the home of the bride. Rev. E.B. Scroggan of Decatur, officated and read the beautiful marriage ceremony of the Methodist Episcopal Church. MISS BESSIE BRAZELTON, cousin of the groom, played the wedding march as the bride and groom entered the parlor.
The bride has resided near Decatur for about three years and is one of our best Christian young women. During the short time she has resided among us, she has won many warm friends who unite in wishing her and her husband a long and happy wedded life. The groom has resided near Decatur since early boyhood and is one of our most enterprising and upright young men. We were a little surprised that CLARENCE should take this momentous step so soon, but cupid put sharp arrows to his bow and "twanged the quivering string" quick and unerring and soon had both of his victims helplessly smitten with the result recorded above.
After the vows were taken, all present partook of a splendid banquet set by the bride's prents. The parents of the groom also gave the newly married couple an elegant dinner at their home the day succeeding the wedding to which were invited the bride's prents, brothers and sisters, Rev. Mrs. Scroggan, Mr. and Mrs. C. Brazelton and daughters, Bessie and Lola, and Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Warner, of Leon.
MR. and MRS. AMMONS will make their home with his parents for the present.
