There was a quiet wedding away out at Colorado Springs, Colorado, On Wednesday, August 5th, which will be learned of with surprise by the friends of the bride, the contracting parties being MR. G.C. ADWERS, of Pueblo, Colorado, and MISS NINA DETRICK of this city, the ceremony being performed by Rev. Lamon, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, and witnessed by only two friends of the groom.
The groom is a young man of 25 years of age, a graduate of the State University of Nebraska in mechanical and electrical engineering. Although a stranger to Leon people he is well recomended and highly spoken of. Of the bride the good people of Decatur County have known her from infancy, being the daughter of the late PHIL S. DETRICK. She was born and raised in this county, and has many near and dear friends who will be surprised to learn of her marriage. After graduating from the Leon High School she engaged in teaching and was one of the most successful teachers of the county. Some months ago she went to Lincoln to accept a position in a hospital as a trained nurse, and it was here the young couple formed an acquaintance which ended in their marriage.
MR. and MRS. ADWERS will make their home in Pueblo, Colorado and the hearty congratulations and well wishes of many friends are extended to them.
