TEALE-SUTHERLIN

Married, in Davis City, Iowa, at the residence of CHARLES F. SUTHERLIN, June l0th, l896, MR. ARTHUR L. TEALE and MISS BIRDIE SUTHERLIN, REV. GEORGE E. MITCHELL performing the ceremony. Of the invited guests about 40 were present to witness the ceremony that made them husband and wife.

After the wedding came the rich repast prepared for this occasion by skillful hands and the guests ate to their hearts' content; all were well served. The Davis City Cornet Band discoursed some fine music in the front yard and then were invited into the feast prepared for them, for which they no doubt were very grateful. The bride and groom were the recipients of a large number of valuable and useful presents.

The Davis City Advance, Davis City, Iowa
Thursday, June 11, l896

Another wedding occurred last night, which formed the union of two of our young people. This time it was MR. A.L. TEALE and MISS BIRDIE SUTHERLIN who became entangled in the net which Cupid weaves, and "two minds with but a single thought; two hearts that beat as one," were bound together by the ties of matrimony. The marriage occurred at the hour of eight o'clock, at the home of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. CHARLES SUTHERLIN, the ceremony being performed by Rev. G.E. Mitchell.

The house was beautifully decorated for the occasion; an arch of roses being a very attractive feature. Under this arch the bridal pair took their place, in response to the sweet strains of the Wedding March, which was played by Miss Edith Teale, and after an impressive marriage ceremony and congratulations, the wedding supper was partaken of with joy and gladness.

The groom is a son of MR. and MRS. J.E. TEALE, and is an energetic young farmer, with bright prospects for the future. The bride is the oldest child of the SUTHERLIN family, and has been a successful school teacher. Both parties are well known by most of our leaders. Many beautiful and valuable presents were received. A number of relatives from a distance were in attendance, but lack of time forbids a list of their names. We extend congratulations, and wish MR. and MRS. TEALE a long, happy and prosperous journey through life.
