Subject: PARRISH-CHERRINGTON MARRIAGE.
Date: Monday, May 14, 2001 11:50 AM
October l, l896
A surprise to most of our readers, no doubt, and an agreeable one as
well, will be this announcement of the marriage of JOHN S. PARRISH of
this city to MISS CRESSIE CHERRINGTON, daughter of MR. and MRS. C.K.
CHERRINGTON of Decatur City.
MR. and MRS. PARRISH stole a march on their friends in this city by
boarding the train Thursday and going to Chariton where the ceremony was
performed the same day by Rev. M.V. Whitton, rector of the Espiscopal
Church of that city.
MR. PARRISH is known to his many friends to be a young man of promising
future. He is engaged in the practice of law in Leon and has been
honored by his republican friends of Center Township with the office of
justice of the peace.
MISS CHERRINGTON is known to all as a very charming young lady and of
amiable disposition.
The young people will make their future home at this place, and will go
to housekeeping as soon as they can secure a suitable residence.
We extend congratulations.
