Decatur County Journal

MARRIED--By the writer on Sunday, April 24th, at the residence of the
bride's parents, MR. and MRS. B.D. GARDNER, MR. I.N. SKIDMORE to MISS
MILLIE GARDNER, both of Decatur County.

Precisely as the sun reached its zenith, MISS M. FIERCE was seated at
the organ, and the sweet but solemn tones of the wedding march filled
the room.  All who know MISS FIERCE know that she is an artist at
whatever she undertakes.

The bride looked lovely in snow white silk and lace, while the groom
wore the conventional black suit.  MR. SKIDMORE, to speak mildly, cannot
be excelled as to honesty, Christianity and in true intelligence he
ranks among the first of Iowa's young men.  The bride is the only
daughter of MR. and MRS. B.D. GARDNER and is widely known as one of
Decatur County's very best school teachers, having taught successfully
in various parts of the county.  She is also quite an accomplished
musician and is an excellent young lady, possessing excellent traits of
character.  The groom is certainly to be congratulated on securing such
a charming lady for his life help meet.

The dinner was all that mortal could wish and to spare, and was presided
over by MRS. GARDNER and sisters.  As this exemplary young couple mount
the mountain of life may they have all good fortune and blessings that
Heaven can send is the wish of--JOHN P. SHEPHERD,
                                Danville, Iowa.
