MARRIED--At Leon, Iowa, November 24, l892, MR. BERT HOWARD of Macon,
Mo., to MISS EDNA, youngest daughter of our esteemed citizen, J.R.
HARMOND, of Davis City.  Immediately after the marriage ceremony, the
happy pair returned to the home of the bride, where an elegant wedding
supper had been prepared and a few of their many friends had congregated
to receive them and offer congratulations.

MR. HOWARD, although a stranger to many of us, comes well recommended
and has, during his short stay in our city, won many warm friends by his
courteous and gentlemanly manner and is to be congratulated on his
selection for a wife, while the bride is one of our brightest and most
amiable young ladies.  Having been raised here from childhood, she has a
host of friends who now join in wishing her and the husband of her
choice a long and happy future, and may the evening of their life be as
calm and peaceful as the morning is bright and joyous.

The young couple received a large number of valuable and useful wedding
presents, which spoke volumes of how much this young couple has the
esteem and good wishes of their numerous friends.  We understand that
for the present they will reside in Davis City as MR. HOWARD is
interested in the ballast works here.
