MARRIED--On Thursday evening, June 28, l894 at 8 o'clock p.m., MR.
VIRGIL ARNEY and MISS SUSIE WOODMANSEE.

The bridal party, consisting of the bride and groom, and MR. J.T. HARRIS
and MISS MOLLIE WOODMANSEE, quietly stole away on the afternoon
passenger train to Des Moines.  At St. Charles the party halted for
supper. Continuing the journey to Des Moines, they were met at the
station by REV. E.H. HOLMES, ex-president of Simpson College and a
former instructor of the groom, who escorted them to the residence of
MR. TAYLOR, a relative of MR. ARNEY's, where a gay company had assembled
in anticipation of the happy event.

From here the entire company boarded the street cars and repaired to the
residence of REV. HOLMES, where the ceremony was performed after the
beautiful manner of the M.E. Church.  After the ceremony the party
returned to MR. TAYLOR's.

On the following day, they took in the sights of the Capital City,
visiting Drake University, the public parks and other points of
interest.  On Monday evening, MR. and MRS. ARNEY left for Indianola,
where they will visit until after the Fourth, going from here to Stuart
for a short visit.  Returning, they will be at home to their friends at
the farm in Franklin Township.

MR. ARNEY is a son of A.N. ARNEY, of this county, and is one of Decatur
County's most promising young men.  The bride is one of our most
successful school teachers.  The JOURNAL joins with a host of friends in
wishing this worthy couple a long, happy and prosperous life.
