A pretty wedding was celebrated at the residence of MR. and MRS. FRANCIS
VARGA, of this city, at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening.  The marriage was
that of MISS EMMA VARGA to D.E. GATCHELL, of Denver, Colorado.

The ceremony, which was short and impressive, was performed by REV. S.
OLLERENSHAW, of the Presbyterian Church, in the presence of the
relatives and immediate friends of the contracting parties.  At the
appointed hour, the bridal party marched slowly through the hall to the
parlors and took their position between the fond parents of the bride,
where the ceremony was performed.  The bride was dressed in an elegant
suit of silk warp henrietta, hand embroidered; the groom being attired
in the conventional black dress suit.

After the words had been spoken that made the happy couple man and wife,
the congratulations and best wishes of the assembled guests were
tendered freely to the young couple, who start on life's journey under
such favorable circumstances.  The wedding presents were numerous and
handsome, and show the appreciation in which the young couple is held by
those who know them best.  An elegant wedding supper was served, after
which the guests listened to the sweet strains of music as rendered on
the piano by MISSES MARY and CLARA VARGA.

The bride was born and has grown to womanhood in Leon, and by her many
good qualities and winning ways, has surrounded herself with a host of
friends here who unite with us in wishing her God speed in her journey
through life with the husband of her choice.

The groom, MR. D.E. GATCHELL, is a resident of Denver, Colorado, where
he is well and favorably known.

The happy couple left yesterday afternoon for Centerville, where they
will spend one day, then they will go to Chicago, where three days will
be passed, after which they will go to Washington, D.C., for a visit to
MR. GATCHELL's parents.  They will stop a few days in Leon on their
return and from here will go direct to Denver, Colorado, their future
home.  The heartiest good wishes for their happiness and prosperity
attend the happy young couple.
