AFFIDAVIT: I, John Merritt of Decatur county, State of Iowa aged 63 years, do solemnly swear that I am acquainted with Benj. F. Hubbard and Elizabeth Alice Merritt who are parties for the marriage of whom a license is applied for; that said Benj. F. Hubbard is of the age of 23 years and upward, of sound contracting mind and unmarried; that said Elizabeth Alice Merritt is of the age of 22 years and upward, of sound contracting mind and unmarried, and that there is no legal impediment to said parties entering the marriage state, to the best of my knowledge, information and belief, and that I am not interested in the issue of said License.
