>From the Leon Journal Reporter of 1902:
One of those quiet private weddings that are the joy of people who have
a
right appreciation of the duties and responsibilities of the marriage
union
took place on Wednesday, August 20, at the home of J. E. Bruner of
Eden
Township in Decatur County. The young people were Mr. Frank Chastain
and
Miss Maude Bruner, both of Eden Township. Frank is one of our
Decatur
County boys for whom everyone has a good word. He is a son of
Mr. and Mrs.
John Chastain of Road View Farm. The bride, Mrs. Maude Bruner Chastain,
is a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bruner. The bride and groom are
now visiting
with friends and relatives in Des Moines, taking the train at Leon
immediately after the wedding dinner in company with Mr. and Mrs. Dockstater
of Des Moines. Mrs. Dockstater (Lenna) is a sister to the bride.
The
marriage ceremony was performed by Mr. H. H. Hubbell, paster of the
Christian church. The many friends of the bride and groom extend
a sincere
wish of happiness and prosperity.
