HUGHES-PETTICORD MARRIAGE.

On Sunday evening, January 23, l925, at 4:00 o'clock, occurred the marriage of T. PHILIP HUGHES and MYRTLE I. PETTICORD, Elder A.L. Sears officiating.

The bride is the youngest daughter of MR. and MRS. GLEN PETTICORD, of Center Township and is one of Decatur County's most successful school teachers. The groom is the youngest son of MR. and MRS. T.T. HUGHES, of Leon, Iowa; and is one of Decatur County's choicest young men, he having grown to manhood in this community and is a young man of sterling worth and character. The bride was charming in a gown of navy blue satin crepe beautifully embroidered in gold and silver. The groom was neatly attired in a suit of blue wool serge. They were attended by MAE HUGHES, a sister of the groom, and WILLIAM DUFFIELD, of Purdy, Iowa, a cousin of the bride. They will reside upon the HUGHES homestead where the groom has been engaged in farming for the past several years. We wish this happy young couple good luck and prosperity as they journey together down life's pathway avoiding the thorns which are hidden among the sweet scented roses.
