On New Year's day at 4 o'clock, the marriage of MISS MADGE MANNING, daughter of MR. and MRS. FRANK MANNING, of Leon, and MR. THOMAS COWAN, son of MR. and MRS. JAMES COWAN, of Melcher, was solemnized at the MANNING home in this city, the ceremony being performed in the presence of fifty guests, by Rev. E.E. Lister of Kellerton, using the ring ceremony.

Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Morris Elder, of Albany, Mo., sang, "I Love You Truly," following with Mendelsohn's Wedding March. Mrs. R.E. NICHOLSON, sister of the bride, was the bride's only attendant.

Following congratulations, a sumptuous wedding repast was served.

The bride is the youngest daughter and one of Leon's most popular young ladies, enjoying the love and esteem of a very large circle of friends. The groom is one of the fine young men of Melcher, having a splendid position as electrician with a big mining company at that place.

MR. and MRS. COWAN will be at home at Melcher after January l5, and a host of friends in Leon and Melcher extend hearty congratulations and well wishes for their happiness and prosperity, with never a cloud to mar the brightness of their wedding day.
