MR. J. MULKEY died at Mrs. Wyckam's boarding house last Friday after a long struggle with the infirmities of age. He was in his 82nd year. The body was taken to Van Wert for burial with an escort of Knights Templar as follows: Dr. T.M. Wall, E.C.; J.L. Kemp; H. Bailey; U.S. Bond; Earl Rarick; S. Banker; J.W. Boden; L.W. London.

The funeral wervices were held at the M.E. Church in Van Wert, Rev. Tennant having charge of the services, after which interment took place in the cemetery of that place. MR. MULKEY leaves one son, CHARLEY, of Van Wert, and one daughter, MRS. PHILLIP THOREAU, JR., of Colorado. JOSHUA MULKEY was born near Ashville, N.C., March l5, l825. He moved to Illinois with his parents when he was about ten years of age. He lived in Illinois until l882 when he moved to Osceola where he was engaged in the mercantile business for about twelve years when he moved to Van Wert and continued in the same business for a number of years. In l852 he was married to ALPHA COX at Dixon, Ill. His wife died May 27, l879. One daughter, CLARA, died in l887. He was of quiet unostentatious habits, but a good citizen and a man that spoke not evil of his neighbor.
