GRAHAM MURDER STILL UNSOLVED

GRAHAM MURDER CONTINUES A MYSTERY - GRAHAM STILL MISSING - SUPPOSED TO HAVE COMMITTED SUICIDE.

Up to the last report no trace had been found of William GRAHAM, the former Decatur county man who is suspected of having murdered his wife near Lansford, South Dakota, Friday, June 24. The Ward County (South Dakota) Independence under date of July 6 says:

The Independent is informed that no trace has been found of William GRAHAM the Lansford man suspected of killing his wife. Diligent search is being made, and it is believed that the body will be found in some coulee not far from the home. There seems to be no doubt now but that he committed the murder while temporarily insane.

The fact that Mr. GRAHAM was ever a quiet, kindly disposed man, strengthened by the fact that he was severely injured about the head in a runaway some six years ago gives ample reason for the supposition that he might have seized with a temporary fit of insanity. The deep mystery enveloping the apparent double crime only adds to the intensity of the interest which continued silence has fanned into a white heat in the vicinity of the murder; and the friends of the family here are as anxiously awaiting news from the missing father and husband.
