The Lamoni Chronicle Lamoni, Decatur County, Iowa January 19, 1905 Sheriff WALLACE on Friday took Ed YOUNG to the Ft. Madison penitentiary to serve his sentence of two and a half years for killing the boy Harry ALLEN near DeKalb last June. During the time he had been in jail YOUNG was a model prisoner and confinement seems to have agreed with him, for he gained over fifty pounds in weight. With his good time allowance YOUNG will only have to serve twenty-six and a half months. He was assigned to the kitchen of the penitentiary and put to work washing dishes. - Leon Reporter.
