A terrible tragedy occurred on Tuesday evening near the tank on the narrow gauge railroad between Leon and Decatur City.

As we go to press it is impossible to get the particulars, but from what we hear we glean the following, which seems to be authentic.

Some time last year a young man named WICKS came from the western part of this State, to near Leon. A son of JOHN CLARK, became unpleasantly mixed up in the affair in some way, causing bad blood between the two young men.

On Tuesday evening they met at the above named place and an altercation ensued, which ended by CLARK drawing a revolver and shooting WICKS twice through the body. It is reported that he is yet alive but cannot recover.

WICKS was to have been married today.
