Sunday afternoon a reporter for this paper, in company with four of his young friends, drove out to the poor farm. On reaching the farm we were received into the private apartment of MR. WILLIAM ARTT and after a short chat, he cheerfully escorted us through the inmates' apartments, where we found that there were l4 boarders, among them MR. PICKARD, of this city. In the ladies' apartments we were entertained by short speeches and a number of choice songs by the ladies. We next took in the farm and found it in an excellent condition and as we drove away, all joined in words of praise for the kindly treatment which we received from MR. ARTT.

Note: WM. ARTT was the steward of the poor farm.
