History: John E. Logan was the earliest permanent settler in Morgan Township in 1844.  He gave the land for the Logan Cemetery and also built a Methodist Church northwest of the cemetery called Logan Chapel.  (It is still standing, but in poor condition.)  The first burial was in 1851, the 3 year-old daughter of J.E. & E. Logan.  The stones need a lot of repair work.
