History: Very little is known about Hall Cemetery. A man by the name of Hall
(fist name unknown) owned the land north and south of the cemetery. This
land had been sold before 1894 (according to an old platte book.) The story
goes that Mr. Hall owned slaves and that when 2 of them died, they were
buried just outside the cemetery fence line. There are very few stones left
unbroken or standing. Several years ago, a lot of the stones were oiled
under a large tree at the north end. There were 13 stones found in this
pile. Only 12 other stones are found throughout the cemetery. At one time
the cemetery was about twice as large, but the west fence was moved farther
east and half the cemetery returned to pasture.
