History: This cemetery, the original Davis City Cemetery, is located on the north edge of Davis City, west of the river bridge on Highway 69, coming into the north part of town.

The town was named for William Davis who built a log residence and saw mill in 1854. However the town was not laid out until 1855.

This cemetery served as the only cemetery for the vicinity until the new I.O.O.F. Cemetery on the west side of twon was established. Three stones (in section C) once were part of the original cemetery, but are now separated from the rest of the gravesites.
