Robert Lesley Fear was the son of Robert and Mary Jane Day Fear. He was born Feb. 7, 1881, at Grand River, Iowa, and died Nov. 5, 1970, with interment at Grand River, Iowa. He was married to Grace Rachel Overholtzer, daughter of William C. and Eveline Wright Overholtzer. She was born June 30, 1887, and died Mar. 31, 1967, with interment at Grand River. To this union were born two children: Robert Doyle (1913-1966) and William Dean (1917-1957).

Robert, or better known as "Rob" Fear, lived around Grand River all his life and was engaged in farming until he retired and moved to town. His son, Robert Doyle, lived in Grand River several years and operated the propane gas business. He later moved to Murray where he made his home until his death. Doyle was married to Imogene Newton.
