Thursday, April 18, 1895 A. VAN WINKLE has completed the Hardscrabble School House. J.M. KEELER and J.B. TIPPIE, Committee, report it as the best school house in Eden Township. MISS PEARL NORMAN began a term of school at Hardscrabble last Monday and has made a good commencement for her first experience. ELISHA NORTHCUTT and his sweetheart were in attendance at the Hardscrabble Sunday School. The boys had better quit their bad behavior as they were warned for the last time Sunday. MISS BETTIE VANDERPOOL, residing near Eden Center School House, accompanied by several other young ladies attended the Sunday School at Hardscrabble. Thursday, May 09, 1895 The Buzzard Roost Sabbath School made a pleasant call on the Hardscrabble School last Sunday. Thursday, June 06, 1895 The Hardscrabble School closes June 7th. MISS PEARL NORMAN, the teacher, reports 26 pupils enrolled and the average attendance for the full term 20-25. MISS NORMAN has always been prompt and devoted her full time in showing and expraining everything possible in her scholars for their benefit and advancement and has given the best of satisfaction during her term of school. Respectfully, J.B. TIPPIE, Sub-Director. Thursday, November 26, 1896 THOS. COX and DAN PETERS are headquarters for tambourine material. THOMAS furnishes the cats and DAN skins them and makes tambourines with which they will entertain the Hardscrabble literary this winter.
