To all of my customers that I have accommodated during the summer, I would request them to return the favor by calling and settling their accounts and oblige.

IT IS A FACT... Yes an absolute fact that DOCTOR MATHER extracts teeth almost painless, and no bad after effects whatever. The Doctor will be at Davis City from the 13th to the 19th of every month. Dentistry in all its branches carefully and skillfully executed.

W.H. WELLER had the misfortune to fall from a scaffold Tuesday, breaking two ribs, Dr. Wailes reports him getting along as well as can be expected.

I wish you would tell the young chap that stole my bridle, buggy wrench, and monkey wrench, that if he don't bring them back, he will get scorched in the next world.

November l8, l897:

Last Friday the last diphtheria flag in Leon was taken down by the authorities and the quarantine of all persons released. Since then there have been no new cases and it can now be said that Leon is entirely free from diphtheria in any form. Prompt measures taken by the Board of Health had the desired effect and prevented the disease from spreading. The public schools opened again Monday morning with a full attendance.
