Mr. Geo. GREEN's oldest boy, aged about 12 and a neighbor boy unluckily came into possession of a quantity of gunpowder Tuesday. They sought to ignite it by using a live coal; but the powder not "going off" readily, they got down with their faces near it, and blew the coal. The explosion at once came resulting in burning the GREEN boy about the mouth, nose, ears, and all over the face. His eyes are both swollen shut and his sight endangered. Dr. SHERMAN was called, but it is impossible to tell at this writing what the exact extent of the permanent injury, if any, will be. The other boy was burned also, but not so severely.
