Drs. LAYTON, VAN WERDEN, and BOWMAN amputated the left arm of Uncle George GAMMON Monday morning an inch below the shoulder joint. Mr. GAMMON has been a terrible sufferer for several years from a cancer on his arm just above the elbow, and his condition had become so precarious that it was necessary to amputate the arm in hopes of saving his life. The amputation was very successful and he is getting along nicely with good hopes for his ultimate recovery. - Leon Reporter
