The friends and neighbors gathered at the FRED SMITH home Monday and spent the day cutting and sawing wood. MR. SMITH has been very ill the past week and his friends were willing to lend a helping hand so the following men cut and sawed about twenty-five loads of wood for him. The ladies brought and sent well filled baskets and at noon the table was filled with the bountiful things of life to which the men did ample justice. MR. and MRS. SMITH have ever been ready to help others in time of sickness and their friends are anxious to return the good deeds. MR. and MRS. SMITH wish to express their grateful thanks to friends who have been so kind to them.
