Isaac Slauter Celebrates Birthday

A birthday celebration was held Sunday, January 19, at the Lamoni Community

Center, in honor of Isaac Slauter's 97th birthday. A family potluck dinner

was enjoyed at noon, with a reception for family and friends in the

afternoon.

Family members celebrating with "Grandpa Ike" were: John and Sue Slauter,

Lamoni; Ed and Marilyn Slauter, Paul and Laura; Bonner and Sue Ann Davis,

Justin, Taylor, and Adam, all of Blue Springs, Missouri; Richard and, Jean

Mickelson; Leon and Shirley Kessel, Brian and Sam; Ron and Rhonda Mickelson,

Nathan, Matthew, and Joe, all of Lamoni; Carol Johnson, Megan and Bret of

Troy, Kansas; Winn and Marilyn Ballantyne, Jeffrey and Aaron, of

Centerville, Iowa; Marjorie Patton, Sumner, Iowa; Rod and Mariam Patton,

Emmetsburg, Iowa; Mark and Molley Ann; Steve and Terri Marsh and Ryan, all

of Pleasantville, Iowa; and Bob and Rose Marsh, Angela, Laura, and Michael

of Solon, Iowa.

All but three of his fourteen grandchildren were able to attend, and

nineteen of his twenty-four great grandchildren were present.

Isaac lives in his own home in Lamoni, and wants to thank his many friends

for coming to help him celebrate.
