Subject: CELEBRATE 35th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - MR. & MRS. J.M. CHASTAIN.
Date: Saturday, September 01, 2001 4:28 PM
Decatur County Journal
January 3, l908
A very enjoyable evening was spent at the beautiful home of MR. and MRS.
J.M. CHASTAIN, in east Leon, last Thursday evening by the members of
MRS. CHASTAIN's Sunday School class, in honor of their 35th wedding
anniversary.
One of the entertaining features of the evening was having a march.
"Home Sweet Home" played upon the piano and the entering of MR. and MRS.
CHASTAIN into the parlor, who had been requested to once again jump the
broomstick. The evening was spent in music, games and contests, the
prizes being won by MISSES LILLIAN BIGLEY and LULU BENEFIEL.
Refreshments were served during the evening and all departed at a late
hour, wishing MR. and MRS. CHASTAIN many happy returns of the day and
thinking the evening had been very well spent.

Thanks, Nancee! I didn't have this article. These are my Great
Grandparents, John Martin CHASTAIN and Sarah Ann ALBAUGH. She was the
daughter of John Willian ALBAUGH and Mary E. LAYTON.
They lived to celebrate 60 happy married years. He died in 1932 and she
died in 1948. Both are buried in Inglewood Cemetery in Inglewood,
California as they had a house in Los Angeles and spent many happy times
with their friends there. I have so many pictures and postcards attesting
to this. Things looked MUCH different then than they do now!!!!
THANKS again!
Jan
