Items are very scarce this week.
The weather is again pleasant since the snow.
Mr. A.D.GREER spent last Sunday at Davis City.
The farmers are mostly done gathering their corn.
MR. F.M. WALKER and daughter, STELLA, went to Leon Monday.
MR. and MRS. BURCH went to Lamoni Sunday.
MRS. M.P. MCGREW is visiting relatives and friends near Decatur this
week.
MR. WILL OLIVER came over from Lamoni to see his sister MARY, Tuesday.
There will be an entertainment and two trees at the M.E. CHURCH on
Christmas Eve.
MESSRS. IVAN BEACH and OTTO MACY, and MISS NELL BICKNELL spent last
Sunday at the BELL farm with MISS EMMA BURCH.
Little ORAL ESTES, while playing at school, Tuesday, fell and dislocated
his elbow. This makes the third one in town that carries his
arm in a
sling.
MRS. BICKNELL now has her hotel completed and is ready to entertain
the
traveler in regular city style. I wish to correct the statement
made
last week in regard to a blacksmith, as MR. B. informed me that they
would have one in the shop in a short time.
MR. and MRS. KIRBY MCGREW, of Willowdale, spent last Sunday with their
daughter, MRS. WILLIS.
MR. ANDREW CROFFORD, who recently purchased the CAMPBELL property,
returned from Lineville last Friday with a housekeeper.
Our merchants are bringing on quite a supply of Christmas goods,
especially E.C. MACY and son, who now have a complete line of albums,
toilet sets, toys, etc., and in fact everything new in the line of
Christmas goods. It will pay you to call and see them, as they
are nice
and cheap.
PAUL ENE.
