Joseph Jerome Brouhard

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, August 12, 1942, at 2:00 pm., for Joseph Franklin Brouhard at the Prugh Chapel in Burlington, Iowa.

Joe was the youngest son of John and Martha Brouhard. He was born on the Brouhard farm west of Bloomfield, November 8, 1861, being almost 81 years of age at the time of his death. He was the youngest child of a family of 14 children of whom only two survive, Byron Brouhard, 86, formerly of Ottumwa, but now residing at the home of his daughter, Mrs L W Myers, of Des Moines, and Mrs Clarissa A Rominger, 84, of Oklahoma City, Okla. He also was a brother of Jerome C Brouhard deceased.

He is also survived by his widow and daughter, Frances, at home and several nieces and nephews.

Joe left Bloomfield when a young man going to Burlington where he was employed by the Burlington Railroad Company. He served as flagman from Burlington to Omaha until a few years ago when he retired because of age and failing health.

Relatives attending the services from Bloomfield were Anna Brouhard, Ada B Tippett and Mr and Mrs C B Smith. Other relatives attending from a distsance were Mrs Fred Norman and Son Louis of Galesburg, Illinois.

Burial was in the Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
