I was born and raised in Davis County with my parents Verlin and Juanita Harris and my sister Elaine Harris. I left with my family in 1984 transferred by my employer John Deere. I am now retired in N.Carolina and have started working on our family tree on my mother's side of family, with the help of my aunt Naomi Shook who lives in New Mexico. I found this site while looking at a website with Stiles Iowa history. I am sure I will be back to this site many times in the upcoming months.

Started exploring genealogy on my Horn family roots there in Davis County since my dad was born in Monterey, Iowa, or what is left of it. I visited there in 2009, and found the Horn cemetery on top of the hill. Lots of Horns buried there...beautiful location. Anyone with surnames Horn, Lunsford, Starr or Orr - all have ties to our family. Congrats on the Davis county web and the information it contains. Great site in obtaining some key information. If you want to share information on the above, send an email. My backup email is paulhorn@embarqmail.com

Just stumbled on this site, and was surprised at my name and info. All true, and could be lots more of that family if anyone interested. I'm sort of the Perry/Hamilton historian; Perry's from Queen City, MO and Hamilton's from Moravia, IA. Only living child of Alva Perry and Leota Hamilton Perry is Dorothy Perry Blew in Phoenix, age 91. I'm eldest of grandchildren, age 80. Like to hear from anyone to exchange info. Thanks.

Writing from Nashville, TN June 12, 2009, my fifty-fifth wedding anniversary to Barbara Heisy of Manheim, PA.
