Drakesville, Iowa


Originally called Drakeville, on land originally owned by John A Drake. In 1850, it contained 108 inhabitants.  The first schoolhouse was built of logs, in 1845, by donations.  It was taught by Benjamin Cyler, he had 15 pupils. The Christian church was organized in 1846; the building erected in 1853.
