I. N. Burgess of Eldon spent Sunday With his brother, John and sisters Mrs. C. Rankin and Miss Jennie Burgess.
Williard Brown and friend Emory Curtis of Letts, Ia., are spending a few days with the former Prof. H. C. Brown.
Mrs. Guy Overturf of near Belknap visited the last of the week with her
grandmother Mrs. Leyda Randolph who lives north of town.
T. A. Goodson has sold his auto to Mr. Silvers of Cantrll. 
The Greeks who have been worklng, on the Wabash have left for Montana. They were about 40 in number.
Prof. Irvan Kinmnn of Shenandoah and Earl KInman of Ottumwa were called here the last of the week on account of the 
sickness of their father, Nathan Kinman.
Mrs. Oscar Galpln and daughter Miss Opal returned to their home in Des Moines Saturday after spending a
week with relatives in and near this city.
Mrs. John Pirtle spent Sunday with her son Llge of West Grove.
O.P. Mcughier and wife of ottumwa attended the baptizing at Rabbit Rldge Sunday.
Mrs. Rebccca Duckworth returned Sunday from Decaturville, Mo., where
she has spent the last two months with her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Proctor.
Miss Ida Hendrick of Ottumwa spent Sunday with Miss Ruth Lain.
Miss Lain returned with her Sunday evening for a brief visit.
Miss Parell Lang of near Florls spent Sunday with Miss Ruby Jones.
Od Snoddy was arrested Sunday for driinkenness. He was taken before Justice Kelsey this mornin~
and sentenced to five days at hard labor.
Information has been filed and warrants out for the arrest of Henry Curry for carrying concealed weapons
and assaulting a minor. The information resulted from a fight
between Harry Curry and Claude Brown In which Curry is alleged to
have used a pair of knucks. Brown was getting the best of the fight when
Henry Curry Vi supposed to have assaulted Brows.

Miss Irene Evans left yesterday for a three days' visit with her grandmother.
Sheriff Johannessen and wife were Ottumwa visitors Friday.
Mrs. Swinney spent Friday at the Walter Baird home In Ottumwa.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Noble were Ottumwa visitors Friday.
Mrs. E. C. Plrtie of West Grove visited the last of the week with Mrs. J. M. Pirtle.
Mrs. J. D. Harlan, of Ottumwa who has been spending the week with Mrs. H. V. Sutton returned home Friday.
Miss Mary Stober of Pulaski is spending a few days with relatives in the city this week,
Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Sutton visited recently with the latter's mother Mrs. Mcintosh of Milton.
Miss Emma Beauchamp and Miss Irene Beauchamp visited relatives In town Friday.
Mrs. Alva Hunt and mother Mrs. Grages of Pulaski were Bloomfleld visitors Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Wray who have been spending the past four months at Long Beach, Calif., returned home
Friday. For the past two weeks they have been visiting their son Frank located at La Crosse, Kans.
Millard Saunders and wife returned Friday from spending the winter In California.
Mrs. Cathrine Graham returned on Thursday from a week's business trip to Chicago.
Frank Traverse and wife drove to Centervllle Friday to attend the musical given by the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra.
Henry Wray returned Friday from a few days visit in Oklahoma.

ORMANVILLE
Miss Alice Blundell closed a very successful term of school at Hickory
Flat April 25. Before noon the patrons began arriving with well filled baskets.
There was a fine spread after which a very interesting program was rendered.
Joseph Engle has returned from Rutledge after the funeral of his brother.
John W. Creech of Centervllle died April 29. He was buried near Unionville in the old family burial ground.
He was 50 years of age and was a Christian man. belonging to the Baptist church. He leaves a widow, one
sister and three brothers. W. S. Creech of this place was not able to attend his brother's funeral.
Osa Dunlavy and daughter Golden went to Ottumwa Thursday to visit W. W. Rankin and family.
Misses Thelma and Laura Overturf went to Pulaski to visit with their brother Rev. W. E. Overturf and help
nurse his little son Roy who is very critically ill.
Mrs. Thomas Hunt is improving slowly.
Miss Agatha Becker is in Ottumwa visiting.
Mr«. Tude Thomas was most royally entertained at the Becker home in East Ormanville Wednesday.
Mrs W S Creech is seriously ill.
Mr and Mrs Chas Horen are the parents of a baby boy.
Lou Conner has moved on the old Boyce farm.
J Q Heckart has sold his farm and moved to Ottumwa.

Milt Randolph, wife and son Ralph spent Sunday at the Tom Randolph home.
Cards are out for the marriage of Miss Jennie Slagel to Dr. Charles W.
Labaugh of Mystic. Miss Slagel is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. F.
Slagel of this place.
Some of the boys in wrestling Saturday night met with the misfortune 
to break a large plate glass in the C.A. Thompson grocery.

Repair work on the Methodist church ahs begun Monday, Owing to the condition of the church no services
until Sunday had been held in it for two weeks. Rev Scott was present to fill his appointment and 
delivered an excellent sermon.
Announcement was made Sunday that a program for the township Sunday school convention would be arranged for 
after the riose of services next Sunday afternoon.
J. F. Foster sold three sheep to the Wabash extra gang oF Greeks who have been employed here.
Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Hancock entertained Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Hancock and sons Bert 
and Stuart at dinner Sunday.
Miss Ruth Kneedler of B1oomfleld spent Sunday afternoon with her cousins Fallace and Pauline Kneedler.
Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Guile and chil dren of Trenton are visiting with Mrs.
Guile's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Cree and with other relatives and friends.

back to Des Moines from a visit with relatives and friends.
