September 31, 1935 – The Chautauqua Club held a business meeting at the home of President, May Hill. She presented plans for the course of study and gave out the assignment for the first book “The meaning of a Liberal Education” by Everett Dean Martin. Plans were made to have a cooperative luncheon on October 4, 1935 at the home of Leola Bissell with Vivian Carroll as joint hostess. Meeting adjourned.
January 3, 1936 - A luncheon was held at the home of Frances Wagler. There were 11 members present. Mrs Ogg, Mrs Hammer, Mrs Griffin and Mrs Carlstedt are all new reading members. Mrs Hammer moved to Davenport, Frances had change of the lesson. The discussion was on Rembrant by Van Loon.
April 24, 1936 - There was a called meeting of the Chautaugua club at the home of May Hill. At this meeting it was voted to ask Mrs Ogg and Mrs Carlstedt as regular members. The regular afternoon's study was carried on after the business meeting. May was in charge of the meeting, Johnson and McClurg gave reports. The last book studied was "Gaeths" by Ludwig.
May 15, 1936 - The last meeting was held at the home of Vivian Carroll. Mrs Carlstedt had the discussion and lesson. Election of officers was held, Francis Wagler nominated Charlotte Ogg for President. Gladys Goode moved the nomination cease, and Charlotte accepted. Leola Bissell made a motion to nominate Ruey Brooks for Secretary, Treasurer. Francis seconded the motion and May Hill moved the nomination cease and Ruey accepted. Many plans were discussed among them the reports. It was decided for next year, would have only two reports, one financial and one open subject. Florence Giles and Mildred Rogers were voted as members, they both accepted.
May 19, 1936 - Florence Sullivan entertained the club at a tea, Marjorie was joint hostess. There were 10 members and three guests present. There guests were Mrs Tucker, Mrs Lewis and Mrs Rogers. There was a short informal program consisting of 2 vocal solos by Charlotte, Piano solo by Reuy. Reading by Gladys, and a vocal by Marjorie. The table was prettily decorated and the outgoing officers served the coffee and cake. This affair closed our years work.
