BLOOMFIELD - Wilma Jean (Davis) Barker age 78, of Valparaiso, Indiana formerly of Bloomfield, died Sunday, August 21, 2005, at the Fountain View Place in Portage, Indiana.
She was born in Moravia, Iowa on March 8, 1927 to James M. and Alma A. (Johnson) Davis. She married Charles Lowell Barker on August 13, 1945 in Bloomfield, Iowa. They raised eight children before he passed away in 1981.
She was a member of the Word of Life church in Bloomfield, Iowa. Her hobbies and interests included oil painting, stained glass, ceramics, gardening, participating in Community Theater, appearing as Shadow the Clown, being a 4-H leader, and watching Fear Factor. She leaves behind many friends at the Dialysis Centers in Portage, Indiana, Elk Grove, Illinois, and Ottumwa, Iowa, where she received treatments for the last five years.
Survivors include sons, Charles of Winterset, Iowa, Craig of Drakesville, Iowa, Clark of Bloomfield, Iowa, and David of Ottumwa, Iowa; daughters, Sherry Ryan of Fremont, California, Sheryl Wilcox of Bussey, Iowa, Sona Rooshanfekr of Hanover Park, Illinois, and Stephanie Pardo of Portage, Indiana; and a sister, Jacklen Bitner of Davenport Iowa. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, Colin, Carrie, Jeremy, Josh, Jessica, Jenny, Trent, Katie, Melissa, Cory, Serena, Samantha, Michael, Masam, Kasey, Shelby, Tristian, Brad, Amber, Alexandra, and Claire; 14 great-grandchildren, Zoe, Madeline, Clayton, Mathew, Allison, Gavin, Abilene, Greyson, Madison, Montana, Myla, Destiny, Cody and Montana; and her beloved cat, Maggie.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 26, 2005, from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at the Henkenius-Priester Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Iowa.
