Ironically, the ringing of the fire bell brought out the fire department and a good many excited citizens, but it was all over before the firemen got there. Sparks dropping on the roof started the blaze. Scott Ellis, who lived next door was first on the scene, and climbing to the top of the house, ended further trouble with a single pail of water. |
