The Commercial Department of
Perry High School was organized in the year 1911. The interest in
this department has shown a remarkable increase each year and at the
present time we do not hesitate to compare the work which is being
accomplished here with that of any of the other high schools in the
state.
This department, the past year, has been in charge of Miss Grace Barnard and Miss Margaret Moore. Their aim is ever to keep in touch with the advancement of commercial training. They are thoroughly awake to the fact that technical training is a necessity for those having charge of this work. We urge and invite all persons, especially those interested in the commercial life of our city, to visit our department and co-operate with us in the work which we are doing. We truly feel that a very great amount of practical knowledge may be gained by such a co-operation. There never has been a time since commercial education found a place in our economic development that the demand for commercial training has been so great as at the present time and will continue to be in the future. The efficiency of the nation depends in some measure upon the training of young people for commercial work. Therefore, we as teachers and students have a real opportunity for rendering a very valuable service to our country.
