A century ago, our forefathers settled in
this rich agricultural community and named it "Minburn". A century
later, thousands will gather to pay tribute to their Founders, an
inheritance of which we are justly proud.
The boundaries of our town have changed considerably in the past
100 years, but our people remain the same.
It is said we build on the shoulders of our ancestors, and we feel we
owe much of our present strength to the early founders of our town, who
were people of integrity, of sound principles, both spiritually and
morally.
We have experienced our share of tragedy, moments of joy, losses
and rebuilding, as we now share in the knowledge that after 100 years,
we stand erect, proud of our heritage.
Between the covers of this book, the Centennial History Committee
has tried to picture the founding of our town and its ensuing growth.
Please remember that history, as it is told from one generation to
another, gains a little flavor that perhaps is fiction or imagination.
We sincerely hope in our writings that we have not strayed too far from
the original.
Our appreciation to everyone who contributed to this book, in
pictures, articles, and advertising. Special thanks to Mrs. John Croft,
typist.
