DECISIVE VICTORY WON BY

LOCAL TEAM IN GAME

YESTERDAY

Dallas Center's powerful High School Football team trampled the Adel High School team yesterday on the local gridiron by the score of 13 to 0.  Dallas Center was at all times the best team, most of the playing being done in the Adel territory.  Twice during the game, Adel by the forward pass method, had the local team almost backed to their own goal line, but then and there Dallas Center did with them as she has with all other teams before this year - she held.

The game was hard fought throughout and not until Dallas Center made their touchdown was it certain as to how the game would end.  The locals scored first by a place-kick from the 28-yard line.  Denton, as usual, making a beautiful kick for three pointers.  Later in the first quarter Hawbaker got away for twenty yards for a touchdown, but because of off-side the play was not counted.  Again the last quarter Hoyt intercepted a pass and made the most spectacular run made this year on the local field for eighty yards and a touchdown, but it also was denied the locals because of the clipping of Dallas.  That brought the ball back where it was as well as putting a fifteen yard penalty onto our team.  The last points were scored by another place-kick by Denton, making the final and official score -- Dallas Center 13, Adel O.

This makes a record that will in all probability never be equaled again by a local football team.  Dallas Center has won eight games and has never let her goal line be crossed or a point scored by field goal by any opponent.  The total number of points this year being Dallas Center 213, and opponents 0.

A complete survey of the season will be given next week as well as the possible team for next year, as  he seen now by the school, which naturally is only something to give the public an idea of what can be expected next year.
