     The graduating seniors of 1928 from Dallas Center high school recently met for their sixtieth anniversary class reunion.  They are, back row, Dale Weber, Art Howard and Lester Christian.  Front, Mary (Paul) Stiles, Mary (Nissly) Grove, Emma Mae (Ward) Smith and Anna Mary (Royer) Winger.

  On May 13, seven members of the 1928 graduating class of the Dallas Center High School gathered on the 33rd floor of the Ruan Building in the board room of the Des Moines Club to celebrate their 60th anniversary.  Sharing the occasion were Anna Mary (Royer) Winger of Grants Pass, Ore; Dale Weber of Bath, Mich.; Mary (Paul) Stiles of Des Moines; Lester Christian of Des Moines, Arthur Howard, Des Moines and Mary Evelyn (Nissly) Grove and Emma Mae (Ward) Smith, both of Dallas Center

  Also attending as quests were Fern Varme and Hazel Howard.  Christy Nissly also flew in from Clearwater, Fla. and joined them for the evening.  He was with the class through the 8th grade and has always been considered as a class member and included in the reunions.  Three members of the class were unable to attend.  They were Roberta (Vance) Filipiak, Orange Village, Ohio; Louise (Greif) Hickle of Ankeny and Glenn Mitchell of Las Vegas, Nev.

  Of the 15 original members of the class, five are deceased.  They are Morris Fox, John Burnett, Wilma (Kuehl) Baer, Rose Deiling, and Nelda (Smith) Thomas.  After dinner the evening was spent visiting and recalling memories.

Entertains Class of 1928

   Mary Nissly Grove entertained six members of the Dallas Center graduating class of 1928 at her home on Thursday afternoon.

   Those attending were Roberta Vance Filipiak of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Paul Stiles, Lester Christian, and Arthur Howard all of Des Moines and Emma Mae Ward Smith and Mary of Dallas Center.

   Many happy times were remembered and cookies, sandwiches and coffee were served.  There were 15 graduating members in the class.

   Marvin and Dorothy McKelvey of Dallas Center observed their Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary April 26 and will have a family gathering at their home May 1, 1988.

   They both were born near Dallas Center and farmed in the area all their lives, until retiring in 1976.

   Their children are Joann Slaughter, Nacogdoches, TX, deceased in 1977; Dolores Stahly, St Petersburg, FL; LeRoy McKelvey, Boone; Coleen Milburn, Dallas Center; Donna Robinett, Madrid, and Ruth Poirier, Pittsburg, CA.

   They have 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and would welcome receiving guests.

OUR THANKS to everyone for the cards and flowers we received for our 60th Anniversary and to our children who made it a very memorable day.
