Looking for any info on the BOZUR or BOSER family. Not sure of spelling.
My ggrandmother was married in Frankfort, Michigan to William BEEMAN in
1870. Her name was Aurelia BOSER/BOSUR. Three sibling sisters: Betsy AIRS (again not sure of spelling) who lived in Onawa Iowa at one time. Amelia
BOZUR MC KENSIE who lived in Wisner, Nebraska at one time. And Rose BOZUR
who lived in Sioux City at one time. They had a brother named Clemsil BOZUR/BOSER and family legend says he was murdered along the Boyer River. This would have to have been in the 1880-1910 time frame. Any info will be appreciated. I cannot find the Bozer family in census records anywhere.

CARROLL

One of my great great grandmothers was Nellie (a nickname for Ellen or Eleanor) Finan CARROLL, who emigrated from County Roscommon, Ireland to America, probably not too long after 1868. She is supposed by our family to have settled near Vail, Iowa, and died November 29, 1906, age about 84. Her children whose names I know were Mary, Elizabeth, Susanna, Nellie, and Tom. They moved to Dakota Territory, probably in the late 1870s. The family were Catholics, and I would expect that Nellie is buried in a Catholic cemetery.

FINAN

I am looking for some confirmation that my great great grandmother,
Nellie (Ellen? Eleanor?) maiden name FINAN married name CARROLL, is
buried in Vail in Crawford County. Nellie was born in 1822 in County Roscommon, Ireland, and died, I think, November 29, 1906 in Vail. I have been through the Catholic cemetery in Vail, and even wrote to the parish asking if there was any record of Nellie being buried there, but had a response saying they didn't know of that name.

GOFF
Barbara Mon Jun 16

I have come across information regarding a Crawford County relative of ours, a brother of our ancestor Stephen Carlton GOFF (see the May 1997 Crawford County messages). Stephen's brother's name was Ira A. GOFF. I would be interested in knowing any more about Ira A. GOFF as it could help us discover more about our own ancestor, Stephen; besides, it would be interesting to know more about another family member. The information I have on Ira A. GOFF is from the "Biographical History of Crawford, Ida, and Sac Counties" (published in 1893). I would appreciate any comments that would have to do with the Goffs in Crawford County, or any comments on the history of Crawford County as it relates to Ira Goff's experiences there.
GOFF
Barbara Thu May 1
16:21:07 1997
I would like to find about Deloit, Iowa - the history of the place, and the people who settled in that area just after the Civil War. I would particularly like to find out about Stephen and Angeline GOFF and their family, who left Michigan after the Civil War (Stephen served in the Michigan Light Artillery) and settled in Deloit. Angeline (ARNOLD) GOFF died in Deloit on March 1, 1870, at about 42 years of age, leaving four children: Lewis GOFF, born 1850; Malinda GOFF, born 1855; Martha Arcana or "Arkenny' GOFF, born 1857; and Frank S. GOFF, born 1858 or 59. All the children were born in Cass Co., Michigan. After his wife died, Stephen hauled logs from Denison, Iowa to Cherokee, Iowa, where he built a log cabin with a dirt floor, in which he and his children (at least the three youngest) settled, and where he was married to his second wife in 1872. He spent the rest of his life in Cherokee and had several more
children, who were raised in that log cabin. The chapter in Stephen GOFF's life we know the least about covers the time he and his family spent in Crawford County, IA. I would appreciate any information on what it was like there in that era. I am even interested in the geography and weather there - anything to help this part of our family history come
to life. It would be interesting to know what might have brought the GOFF family to Deloit at that time. Also, how many people settled there in that decade, and where were they from. Did others move on to Cherokee? Perhaps family, friends, or neighbors of the GOFFs?

Marion Grant YOUNG was a Methodist minister in Deloit, Iowa. Born in ohio in 1864, I believe Marion G. YOUNG was in the Deloit, Iowa Methodist Church in the early 1880's. Marion married Angelina HOGLUND (HOAGLUND now) on August 18,1885 in Deloit. They later moved to Arthur, Iowa where Angelina
Hoglund YOUNG died after having a son Marion C. YOUNG in July 1886. Marion G. later settled in Seattle, Washington where he was a doctor. Any information about Marion G. YOUNG and the years he was a Methodist minister in Deloit would be greatly appreciated. Allen S. Hoaglund Mt. Eaton, Ohio (formerly Ida Co. Iowa)

Tracing my grandfather's lineage - John ZILLIG Sr. married Katherine DEIBER in Denison, Iowa. They lived in and around Denison and Buck Grove until 1905 when they moved to Ainsworth Brown Co. Nebraska. John ZILLIG Sr.'s father was known as "Nick" or Nicolas. But come to a brick wall in
finding anything further about him. My grandfather was born in Morris
,Co. Ill. birth records were not kept in Illinois at the time he was
born so I have come to another brick wall. My father, John ZILLIG Jr. was the first son of John ZILLIG. A family of 11 children 7 boys and 4 girls, all of whom are now deceased.
