Agnes married Andrew Garfield Carothers on December 20, 1888 at Denison, Iowa. He was born June 25, 1857 at Knox, Guernsey, Ohio to William L Carothers and Sarah Dales. The couple had 5 children: Sarah (Sadie) E; Margaret Effie; Agnes Emily; William Edward and Andrew Garfield.
In the 1895 census she was living in Manilla, Iowa, as Agnes Carothers age 23.
In the 1900 census the family was living in Manilla and recorded with the surname misspelled as Brothers rather than Carothers. The family members were Andrew Brothers 41, Agnes Brothers 28, Sarah Brothers 9, Emily Brothers 1, Sarah E Graham 57 (mother in law), Lou Miller 29. The family was living in Manilla in the 1905 census index.
Andrew Carothers died on April 16, 1908, at Manilla. Agnes and her children were recorded in the 1910 census of Nishnabotny Township. Agnes' occupation was doing laundry. The family entry in the census was Agnes Caruthers 39, widowed, Sarah E Caruthers 19, Agnes E Caruthers 10, Wm E Caruthers 4, Andrew G Caruthers 1 8/12[1], Wm J Davis 27, nephew.

Margaret Effie was born December 7, 1896 in Crawford county, Iowa, and she died January 13, 1898 in Crawford county, Iowa.
Agnes Emily was born November 1898 in Crawford county, Iowa.
William Edward was born September 21, 1905 in Crawford county, Iowa. He was married October 7, 1931 to Lillian Magdaline Natzel, and he died June 1974 at Hiawatha, Linn county, Iowa.
Andrew Garfield was born June 21, 1908 in Crawford county, Iowa. He was married to Marjorie Gessmann April 10, 1935, and he died May 1966 at Manilla, Iowa.
Agnes married Prentis Nathaniel Bliven in 1919 at Crawford, Iowa. They had no children.

Agnes died July 3, 1938 at Crawford, Iowa and was buried at the Nishnabotna Cemetery, Manilla, Crawford, Iowa.
