It was the custom back in the "Gay Nineties" for many Clintonians to hang group photographs of professional men in their parlors.

One of these early groups is shown here, identified as follows:

In the group of insurance men in the upper left hand corner, reading left to right to the center are: 
first row, E. M. Tremain, M. E. Lesse, Peter Matzen; 
second row, J. D. Lithgrow, D. L. Ryder; 
third row, Lee Browning, N. A. Patterson; 
fourth row, W. E. Zingg; 
bottom of group, Edgar Pritchard; 
above center at top, R. N. Markham.

The group of doctors in upper right hand corner are:
top row left to right from center, A. W. Blunt, C. W. Meyers, E. M. McAfee;
second row, Wesley Peck, D. M. Finley;
third row, T. F. Molt, E. R. Mullett;
bottom, H. S. Farnsworth.

Newspapermen in the top central group are:
Col. F. W. Mahin, top;
Clarence A. Fay, D. H. Winget and C. H. Dean, left to right.

Lawyers shown are:
